TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The following applies to requests and bookings made directly to Badger Campers, and not bookings made via the Quirky Campers portal.
DEFINITIONS
In these conditions, the following definitions apply:
​“Campervan”: the campervan which is the subject of this Booking, the details of which will be provided in the Booking Confirmation Email.
“Customer”: means the person making the Booking. Where we use the term “you” in the following conditions, that is who we are referring to.
“Badger Campers”: That is us, the owners of the campervan you are booking. Where the terms “We” and “Us” are used in these conditions, that is who we are referring to.
“Booking Information”: all relevant information for the Booking requested by Badger Campers from the Customer and any other information reasonably requested by Badger Campers;
“Booking”: the reservation of the Campervan including the administration involved in documenting the reservation, and all other matters arising from and related to the reservation.
“Booking Confirmation Email”: the email which will be sent to you as soon as possible following receipt of your Booking and (at a minimum) the Deposit.
“Booking Dates”: the dates for which the Booking is made, and which will be in the Booking Confirmation Email.
“Booking Fee”: the total sum payable by the Customer for the Booking.
“Booking Deposit”: 20% of the Booking Fee or £50, whichever is greater
“Remaining Fee”: the Booking Fee minus the Booking Deposit.
“Security Deposit”: the security deposit covers the insurance excess applied by the insurers, and the minimum amount required is shown at time of booking. However, it is subject to change if driver does not meet full insurance criteria
“Insurance Excess”: is the amount the customer/driver is required by the insurance provider to pay out of pocket towards a claim before the insurer covers the rest.
1 - BOOKING AND PAYMENTS

Booking Requirements - To make a booking, you must:

Provide accurate and truthful booking information; and
-
Pay the Booking Deposit (or full Booking Fee, depending on timing) via debit/credit card or bank transfer.

Payment Structure

If your booking is made more than 30 days before the start date, you must pay:
-
A non-refundable Booking Deposit at the time of booking; and
-
The Remaining Fee no later than 30 days before the hire start date.

​If your booking is made within 30 days of the hire start date, the full Booking Fee is payable at the time of booking.

Failure to Pay - If the Remaining Fee is not paid by the due date, the booking will be cancelled automatically, and the Booking Deposit will be forfeited.

Booking Confirmation - Once payment is received, your selected dates will be held and a Booking Confirmation Email will be sent to you within 24 hours.

What the Booking Includes - Your booking entitles you to use the campervan for the agreed dates, along with the following:

Daily Mileage Allowance

A standard allowance of 160 miles per full day of hire applies.

Mileage will be recorded at both the start and end of the hire period.
-
Any mileage exceeding the allowance will be invoiced at a rate of £0.20 per additional mile.

Insurance Cover (subject to the terms outlined in the Insurance section)

2 - CANCELLATION
-
Booking Deposit - The Booking Deposit is non-refundable, except where the cooling-off period applies (see section 2.2).

Cooling-Off Period
-
A full refund, including the Booking Deposit, will be provided if the booking is cancelled within 24 hours of confirmation (i.e., when the booking is accepted and a confirmation email is sent), provided the booking start date is 30 days or more from the date of confirmation.

After this 24-hour period, standard cancellation terms apply.​

Cancellations by the Hirer

If the booking is cancelled within 30 days of the scheduled start date, the Remaining Fee (i.e., the balance after the Booking Deposit) is non-refundable.

If the booking is cancelled more than 30 days before the start date and the full amount has been paid, the Remaining Fee will be refunded; the Booking Deposit remains non-refundable.

Cancellations by us due to Vehicle Unavailability before hire

In the event the campervan becomes unavailable prior to the hire period due to mechanical failure or other unforeseen circumstances:

We will make reasonable efforts to source a suitable replacement.
-
If a replacement cannot be provided, the booking will be cancelled and a full refund issued, including the Booking Deposit.

Breakdown During Hire
-
​If the campervan suffers a mechanical breakdown during the hire period and cannot be repaired in a reasonable timeframe, a pro-rata refund will be issued for the unused hire days.

3 - INSURANCE

Insurance Coverage
-
The Campervan is covered by a specialist insurance policy.
-
Full details of the insurance cover and eligibility criteria are available on the Campervan’s individual webpage.

Driver Eligibility
-
You must ensure that you meet all stated insurance criteria prior to the Booking Dates.
-
If you do not meet any part of the criteria, you must notify us immediately, and no later than before the start of your hire period.

Alternative Cover & Additional Costs
-
Upon notification of ineligibility, we will contact our insurer to determine whether you can still be covered under the policy.
-
If additional insurance cover is required, this may increase the Booking Fee. Any changes to the fee will be communicated to you promptly.

Failure to Disclose Information
-
Failure to provide accurate and complete information at the time of booking, or providing false information, may result in:
-
Cancellation of your booking without refund eligibility;
-
Invalidation of the insurance policy; and/or
-
Personal liability for any damage or legal consequences arising during the hire.

Insurance Excess
-
The standard insurance excess ranges between £1,500 and £2,750, depending on the insurer and driver details.
-
The exact excess amount applicable to your Booking will be confirmed after the Booking Deposit/Fee has been paid and your Booking Information submitted.

Liability for Damage
-
You are responsible for paying the full insurance excess in the event of any damage to the Campervan or any claim made under the insurance policy during your hire period.
-
Additionally, you are liable for any damage caused by your own negligence or the negligence of any person you permit to enter or use the Campervan.

4 - BREAKDOWN RECOVERY

Coverage
-
The Campervan is covered by a comprehensive breakdown assistance policy, and full details of this cover will be provided to you prior to the hire period.

Mechanical Failure Procedure
-
In the event of a mechanical failure during your hire:
-
If roadside repair is not possible under the Owner’s breakdown cover, you will be transported back to the designated pick-up location.
-
You must notify us immediately when the issue arises so we can provide guidance and arrange appropriate assistance.
-

Failure to Report
-
Failure to report a mechanical issue at the time it occurs may result in loss of eligibility for any compensation or refund related to the fault.

Continuing with a Fault
-
If you choose to continue your journey despite a known mechanical issue, and decline vehicle recovery, you may be considered to have waived your right to a refund or compensation for any continued problems resulting from that fault.

5 - AMENDMENTS TO BOOKINGS

Amendment Requests
-
You may request a change to your Booking Dates by contacting us no later than 30 days before the original Booking is due to commence.

Approval Conditions
-
Any amendment request is subject to:
-
Our discretion (Badger Campers);
-
Availability of the Campervan (or a suitable alternative) for the new dates; and
-
A £30 administration fee, payable at the time the amendment is confirmed.

Recalculation of Booking Fee
-
If your Booking Dates are successfully amended:
-
If the revised Booking Fee is higher than the original, you must pay the difference immediately upon request.
-
If the revised Booking Fee is lower, we will refund any overpayment already made.
-

Deposit Retention
-
If only the Booking Deposit has been paid at the time the amendment is approved, we may agree to retain the original Deposit, and you will be required to pay the Remaining Fee based on the revised total Booking Fee for the amended dates.

6 - PRICING
-
Price Matching Guarantee
-
When you book directly with us, we will match the total price (including the booking fee) listed on the Quirky Campers website for the same campervan and the same hire dates, and apply an additional 5% discount.

Final Price Confirmation
-
As booking fees on the Quirky Campers website are subject to change at any time and without notice, the final matched price, including the 5% discount, will be confirmed at the time we confirm your booking.

7 - PETS
-
Permission and Supervision
-
Pets may only be brought into the Campervan with prior approval.
-
Any approved animal must be kept under control at all times and must not be left in the Campervan unsupervised, unless housed within a crate or carrier box.

Liability for Damage or Cleaning
-
If the presence of a pet results in damage to the Campervan or the need for additional cleaning, the associated costs will be deducted from your Security Deposit.
